Creating learning environments for students that reflect their life experiences is central to their ability to be successful as learners. When education leaders are truly student centered, they help foster classroom spaces where students experience academic success, feel valued and seen, and are able to engage with learning in deeper and more meaningful ways.
In Scaling Student-Centered Instructional Practices, The Leadership Academy helps school and district leaders deepen their understanding of what student-centered learning looks like and how it is reflected in their district’s systems, policies, and practices. The Leadership Academy will support leaders in strategically observing real-time instruction through the lens of identifying high-quality practices as well as areas for feedback and improvement.
Ideal for groups of up to 30 school and district instructional leaders, Scaling Student-Centered Instructional Practices allows participants to:
- Engage in a school walkthrough led by The Leadership Academy, followed by a debrief with the principal.
- Build a full understanding of what true student-centered practices mean for your district and how they can be observed and implemented in classrooms.
- Identify the shifts necessary to strengthen instructional practices and reflect a more student centered and adaptive approach to teaching and learning.
Scaling Student-Centered Instructional Practices can be delivered in your district in person over a 2-day period, or be delivered virtually in 12 hours. Customized hybrid plans are also available.
