Creating learning environments for students that reflect the diversity of their cultural and life experiences is central to their ability to be successful as learners. When education leaders are culturally responsive, they help foster classroom spaces where students experience academic success, feel valued and seen, and are able to engage with learning in deeper and more meaningful ways.
In Scaling Culturally Responsive Instructional Practices, The Leadership Academy helps school and district leaders deepen their understanding of what culturally responsive learning looks like and how it is reflected in their district’s systems, policies, and practices. The Leadership Academy will support leaders in strategically observing real-time instruction through the lens of identifying high-quality practices as well as areas for feedback and improvement.
Ideal for groups of up to 30 school and district instructional leaders, Scaling Culturally Responsive Instructional Practices allows participants to:
- Engage in a culturally responsive school walkthrough led by The Leadership Academy, followed by a debrief with the principal.
- Build a full understanding of what culturally responsive practice means for your district and how it can be observed and implemented in classrooms.
- Identify the shifts necessary to strengthen instructional practices and reflect a more culturally responsive and adaptive approach to teaching and learning.
Scaling Culturally Responsive Instructional Practices can be delivered in your district in person over a 2-day period, or be delivered virtually in 12 hours. Customized hybrid plans for delivery are also available.
