New principals face a unique set of challenges in their earliest years in the role. Assimilating to a new school environment while acting as instructional leader, strategist, problem-solver, visionary, and change-maker results in a steep learning curve for new school leaders.
The Leadership Academy’s Culturally Responsive New Principal Institute will help school districts and systems better serve the emerging needs of new and novice principals. The Leadership Academy team will customize the institute to support the district’s specific leadership needs through a range of skill-building and professional learning for principals, including:
- Honing a culturally responsive instructional lens.
- Building coaching expertise through listening, questioning, and feedback.
- Developing a data-informed, year-long arc of professional learning.
- Driving school transformation through systems of continuous improvement.
- Taking an equity lens as a listening and learning leader.
During this dynamic workshop, our expertly trained and experienced facilitation team engage participants, guide discussions, lead activities, and foster an environment conducive to growth and collaboration. Based on the tailored design, leaders will walk away with relevant tools, implementation plans, and learning arcs to implement across the school year.
