The Leadership Academy is thrilled to announce that President & Lead Executive Officer Nancy B. Gutiérrez is being honored as an ASU+GSV 2025 Innovator of Color for her work in driving transformational leadership development for educators. She was one of just four leaders this year to receive the honor, for being among those “whose indelible impact on education innovation is reshaping the landscape.”
“This award recognizes leaders who have propelled the trajectory of countless individual lives, transformed the learning landscape, and who embody the spirit of innovation,” said Tiffany Taylor, member of the 2025 IOC Committee. “Nancy Gutiérrez’s work at The Leadership Academy has made a lasting impact, and we’re truly excited to recognize her contributions at the ASU+GSV Summit this April.”
A former teacher and principal, Dr. Gutiérrez has helmed The Leadership Academy for more than five years, partnering with education leaders in 41 states across 430 districts to create sustainable, context-driven change in schools. In 2023, Dr. Gutiérrez co-authored Stay and Prevail, highlighting leaders giving back to their communities, and in 2024, she co-authored Coaching Education Leaders, showcasing The Leadership Academy’s groundbreaking coaching model.
