The NYC Leadership Academy today joined 75 other education organizations in calling on members of Congress to fully fund the School Leader Recruitment and Support Program in FY2020. This program is designed to fund programs like the NYC Leadership Academy that prepare and support principals and other leaders serving children and communities with greatest need.
Said NYC Leadership Academy President & CEO Nancy Gutierrez, “It takes a great leader to transform a school. We know from our own work and research that effective principal preparation and ongoing professional learning helps principals do their very best work for the students, teachers, and schools they serve. High-quality school leader training and support also leads to stronger retention and sustainable improvements. By expanding the availability of meaningful and effective learning experiences for school leaders, SLRSP will go a long way toward ensuring every child has access to the educational opportunities they need to excel.”
