NYCLA is working with the Beeghly College of Education atYoungstown State University (YSU) in Ohio in support of the university’s efforts to build the leadership skills of aspiring and sitting principals in the Youngstown City School District (YSCD).
YSU approached NYCLA to serve as a thought partner in designing and delivering professional development for YSCD school leaders that is rooted in behavior-based leadership standards and incorporates experiential, hands-on learning methods. NYCLA will also facilitate work with a group of Youngstown City principals who are collaborating with YSU to develop a leadership mentoring program within the district.
Our engagement with YSU is the latest example of how NYCLA partners with universities to design or strengthen principal preparation and support programs that effectively address the needs and contexts of the schools and districts they serve.
