It was with a heavy heart that the NYC Leadership Academy (NYCLA) said goodbye to one of the organization’s founding board members last week. After 11 years of service, Kathy Wylde, President and CEO of the Partnership for New York City, stepped down from our Board of Directors.
In many ways NYCLA owes its very existence to Kathy Wylde. Her ability to convene and guide top-tier leaders and philanthropists from the New York City business community directly resulted in a highly successful fundraising campaign that launched and built our organization and its programs.
We extend an enormous thank you to Kathy for her remarkable, unwavering enthusiasm and dedication to our work — to prepare and support passionate, high-quality educators who lead schools that accelerate student learning and increase the capacity of systems and their leaders.
Kathy remains a champion for New York City public education, citing college and career readiness as critical tools necessary for 21st century jobs. Her continued work with the New York City business community will lead to stronger educational and employment opportunities for students and a brighter economic future for New York City.
We wish Kathy the best on her continued endeavors and thank her for her steadfast support of the NYC Leadership Academy over the last decade.
